Shorestone Legal opened its doors in Banyo, on Brisbane’s Northside, in January 2020. Our Principal Solicitor has been a part of the local community for over 30 years. In February 2026 we relocated to Hendra.

We practise mostly in Family Law and Estate matters. We offer comprehensive value-for-money services for all aspects of family law including divorce, asset division, superannuation splitting, maintenance, parenting arrangements, child recovery applications, binding financial agreements, child support disputes, and domestic violence proceedings.  

We also help many clients with all types of estate matters including applications for probate, contesting wills, and defending claims against the estate, as well as providing will making services and estate planning advice.

We have successfully won several Court proceedings in both family law and estate matters. Our commitment is to provide the absolute best legal services for our local community, for the lowest fees. Our reviews speak for themselves …. we really punch above our weight!

Aaron Ball LLB(Hons) GDLP

Principal Solicitor/Family Lawyer

Aaron is the Principal Solicitor at Shorestone Legal. Aaron brings to the role his many years of experience working in private industry, as well as 20+ years working within both Commonwealth and State government in various compliance, investigation, and prosecution roles. Aaron has worked for the Brisbane Magistrates Court, the supreme and District courts, the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, the Commonwealth Department for Immigration, Building Codes Queensland, and the Residential Tenancies Authority.

Aaron then entered private practice in 2016 focussing on the areas of family law, wills and estates, and civil litigation.

During his long and varied career, Aaron has worked closely with victims of crime, victims’ advocacy services, real estate agents, tenants and tenancy advocates, small business operators, and both State and Commonwealth police forces.

Aaron has previously been heavily involved in advocacy work for road safety, and currently serves on the steering committee of Northside Connect, a not-for-profit community legal service based in Nundah offering legal advice, domestic violence support, homelessness support, and a variety of other community assistance services.

Aaron has two children who, despite their charm, have aged him considerably.  Aaron also keeps our team entertained with relentless dad jokes.

Jacinta Gallpen LLB GDLP

Family Lawyer

Jacinta was admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner in 2022, and has practised family law with Shorestone Legal since 2023. Jacinta grew up in various country towns before moving to the Sunshine Coast. Jacinta loves adventure, and has travelled extensively throughout Australia, Europe, North America and Asia.

Before focussing on family law, Jacinta lived for many years in the United Kingdom.

Jacinta has successfully resolved many complex family law matters. She has assisted our clients with many of our most challenging parenting disputes and property settlement matters, and provides all of her clients with the utmost levels of empathy and respect. 

Jacinta does not find Aaron’s dad jokes very funny.

Olivia Green LLB(Hons) GDLP

Lawyer

Olivia began her career with Shorestone Legal as a Law Clerk, and now practises predominately in the areas of family law, wills and estate law. Olivia has a background in public speaking and working with disadvantaged children. In her role as a UQ Student Ambassador before joining Shorestone Legal, Olivia helped high school children overcome systemic barriers and find their pathway to tertiary education.  

Her ability to deal with difficult people also gives her the necessary skills to keep Aaron in line.

Olivia’s passion for the community, and her ability to build strong relationships with clients, is an invaluable asset to the team.  Olivia enjoys working closely with clients to ensure they feel supported throughout the progression of their legal matters.  

Olivia grew up in regional south east Queensland and travels home whenever her mean boss will let her finish early on a Friday. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and is an avid fan of cinema.

Naomi Burnes

Law Clerk

Naomi previously worked as an early childhood educator before finding her passion in law. She has since worked as a paralegal and law clerk for various generalist and family law firms.  

Naomi has experience with criminal and civil proceedings, as well as domestic violence, parenting and property settlement matters.  As a law clerk Naomi has previously assisted with matters before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.  

Naomi is passionate about helping people through their challenging times, ensuring that each client she works with is met with kindness and respect. 

Naomi has recently completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at Queensland University of Technology, and plans to practise family law when she is admitted. We are not looking forward to that, because as our law clerk she keeps us all on track and we will be lost without her.

Olivia Castieau

Office Clerk

Olivia holds a Dilpoma of Business and is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws at Queensland University of Technology. Olivia brings to our team a wealth of experience in all areas of office management and client services, having previously worked in legal chambers as well as office manager in a variety of industries.

Olivia plans to practise predominantly in family law once she graduates.

As Shorestone Legal’s administration officer, Olivia is the first point of contact for all our clients. Olivia ensures all of our clients feel welcome, valued, and heard.

Olivia is a Brisbane born and bred, an animal lover, and Mum to two beautiful but annoying fur babies.
